چکیده

Gut?microbiota are critical?to?many?aspects?of?human health including immune and metabolic health. Long-term diet influences the community structure activity of trillions microorganisms residing in human gut, but it remains unclear how gut microbiome responds to short-term intervention with dietary fiber. This study explored effects mixed fibers on gut?microbiota young, healthy people. Twelve healthy, young adults participated a randomized, crossover trial comparing polyglucan, inulin resistant malt dextrin microbiota composition bacterial abundances. During study, subjects followed their normal diets without any constraints. Microbial profiles were determined by absolute quantification 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. Mixed model analysis did not reveal an effect microbial structure. At genus level, fiber for 4 days significantly promoted growth Alloprevotella, Parabacteroides Parasutterella inhibited Adlercreutzia, Anaerovorax, Enterococcus, Intestinibacter Ruminococcus 2 compared baseline. Addition whey albumen powder Corynebacterium, Collinsella, Olsenella Lactococcus interfered Megasphaera. Our results should be corroborated randomized clinical trials large sample size.

Short-Term Effect of Antibiotics on Human Gut Microbiota

From birth onwards, the human gut microbiota rapidly increases in diversity and reaches an adult-like stage at three years of age. After this age, the composition may fluctuate in response to external factors such as antibiotics. Previous studies have shown that resilience is not complete months after cessation of the antibiotic intake. However, little is known about the short-term effects of a...

Effects of Neonatal C-Fiber Depletion on Interaction between Neocortical Short-Term and Long-Term Plasticity

Introduction: The primary somatosensory cortex has an important role in nociceptive sensory-discriminative processing. Altered peripheral inputs produced by deafferentation or by long-term changes in levels of afferent stimulation can result in plasticity of cortex. Capsaicin-induced depletion of C-fiber afferents results in plasticity of the somatosensory system. Plasticity includes short-term...

Mechanisms linking dietary fiber, gut microbiota and colon cancer prevention.

Many epidemiological and experimental studies have suggested that dietary fiber plays an important role in colon cancer prevention. These findings may relate to the ability of fiber to reduce the contact time of carcinogens within the intestinal lumen and to promote healthy gut microbiota, which modifies the host's metabolism in various ways. Elucidation of the mechanisms by which dietary fiber...

Effects of short‐term sex steroid suppression on dietary fat storage patterns in healthy males

Hypogonadism in males is associated with increased body fat and altered postprandial metabolism, but mechanisms remain poorly understood. Using a cross-over study design, we investigated the effects of short-term sex hormone suppression with or without testosterone add-back on postprandial metabolism and the fate of dietary fat. Eleven healthy males (age: 29 ± 4.5 year; BMI: 26.3 ± 2.1 kg/m2 ) ...
